looking for wood ash.

Larry,

Are there any pizza or restaurants in your area? They are usually a
good source for ash. My son had a restaurant that used apple wood ash.
After letting it go overnight with a small batch of wood left in it,
there were buckets of white totally burned ash. That may be an answer
for future consistent supplies of ash.

I'm not sure if they still do but Axner sold it in the past if you
can't
find any for free. There was a time LP Skeen on the list was trying to
give
some away.

Larry,

Lazy guy that I am, I think I may still have some in my fireplace.
I'll try and remember to check when I get home. if the feds come
down on me for the suspicious looking gray stuff in the mail, i'm
gonna be pissed ;)

The other place that people have a lot of luck is the local barbeque
joint. being in the south, there is one on every corner here, you
may not be so lucky. where you live. sometimes this place does seem
a bit like heaven, what with all the suckling pigs roasting on every
corner. It's almost like that simpsons episode where homer is
dreaming about paradise and a live pig offers homer a hind leg to
gnaw on... Ah, I digress. there must be at least a famous daves
around there somewhere. At the very least, I could go to my local
bbq joint and pick some up for you. Drop me an email direct and I
will try and get some to you.

best,

Hi All,

I started to mix up one of my favorite wood ash glazes today and discovered that I am out of the most important ingredient. I have already called everyone I know with a fireplace and they are all cleaned for fall, so no help there.

Does anybody have 10 lbs or so they can spare? I will happily pay for it and all costs to get it here. If you are within 50 miles of Peoria IL I could pick it up.

I have some I've been trying to give away for weeks... you're welcome to it
for the cost of shipping... USPS Flat Rate box maybe?... I have several of
those here at the house.
