just because it went through the kiln doesn't mean it will go through the oven

I'm no scientist, but it takes my kiln roughly 3 hours or more to get up to
500 degrees. It takes my oven roughly 15 minutes.

Enough said.

I'm not scientist, but I can tell you that I've had a low fire piece
crack and break in two in the oven. I leave it to the scientists to
explain why this happened. But... after that, I've only used ^10 and
^6 for the oven.

My wood kiln can it it in less than 5 minutes.

Lo -- But did you load your oven with 80 lbs or
so of greenware first? I'd suspect that this is
the first difference, and I do know from experience
that if I put a large object -- a turkey, say, or
a telemarketer -- in my oven it heats up much more
slowly.

Second difference -- at least with a computer
controlled kiln, the controller tries to keep
the heating curve down to the level it considers
'normal.' That is, it doesn't trip the relays
at the beginning of a segment to 'on' and wait
for the beast to reach a target temperature, it
switches them on and off with the goal of a steady
and controlled temperature rise.
