Hi,
Thank you Don Jones, Bob Compton, Unruly Julie, Sharon Armann, Jeff
Lawrence, Pat(pjeve2) etal for your response to me re. New Mexico Potters
to visit. I am back having had an incredible visit. Favorite potter? Liz
Patterson, owner of Clayworks West in Cerrillos, just south of Sante Fe on
rt.14s.
We didn't stop at as many potters' shops as I might have if my traveling
partner had been a potter. We ended up spending our time at the Parks,
hiking. We saw a lot of NM and loved the mts, and backroads more than the
cities.
We slept under the stars at White Sands Memorial Park where the sunrise and
sunset over the gypsum dunes were awesome. At City of Rocks Park, again,
under the stars, an incredible sky. Chaco Canyon with its 6 mile hike on
top of the mesa overlooking the Anasazi Ruins is vast and inspiring. The
Gila Cliff Dwellings, the variation in the turane, the switchback mt.
climbs, the weather, the people were more all more pleasurable than we
could have imagined. I want to go back. If anyone is planning a trip to NM
and has questions email me.
