hi, everyone.

i hope this hasn't been discussed to death, but while searching the
archives, i've been getting error messages.

i input my search terms & get a list of items.... good....

then i start clicking on items to read them.

some pop right up...goood....

but for some, i get the following error message:

The archive files could not be accessed, either because the list does
not have Web-accessible archives or because they are being updated. If
you know that the list has Web archives, please try again in about 30
seconds, and report the problem if it persists for more than a few
minutes. The file that could not be opened is
'd:\listserv\archives\upload\0986297047998577.tmp' and the error code
was 13.

i try going back, but i still get the error message.

i tried searching the archives to see if this had been discussed, but i
couldn't turn up anything.

any ideas?

thanks!

Hi Nori,

Try this at the web interface...

click on "Subscriber's Corner"

click on "Preferences"

Click on the "Archive Preferences" tab

Select "Text Part" for the Default View

...From the Preferences ? link (Help) here is the explanation for the
above:
"Default View: Select whether to view the HTML or Text part as the
default for multi-part messages. The default is HTML."

Apparently html is not enabled for Clayart's Discussion Forum, so if a
post has only html, or has html before the text in its body, you won't
be able to see the message.

Other utilities that could be available and aren't, are image upload and
replying to or posting mail from the web interface.

(It took a long while for the search utility to be enabled...)
