signing for kiln delivery

My kiln is coming! My kiln is coming!

OK, so it's really/finally on the Yellow Freight truck on it's way from L&L. I'm about to be the proud owner of a J230 L&L kiln, the souped up Jesse Hull version. Yep, I want to have the option to play with crystalline glazes. It's the first brand new kiln that I have purchased. And the working kiln I have had in many years. I've re-read John and Ron's book, I've inventoried my chemicals and beefed them up based on the recipes I hope to try, entered the glazes into GlazeMaster etc., etc., etc. Can you tell I'm a bit excited?

When I was researching which kiln to buy and where to buy it, I remember reading something from a vendor or a supplier, can't remember which, that suggested including something along with your signature when you received the kiln. It was to cover you in case you found damage after totally unpacking the kiln after the driver has left. I assume the driver will be quite annoyed if I do not sign until I have completely unpacked the kiln and checked it for damage. Does anyone know what I should include with my signature?

Thanks.

Happy 4th for the US readers!

Inspect the kiln as soon as it arrives. If the driver cannot
wait for that, sign the bill of lading with the notation
"Subject to inspection. Driver refuses to wait."

Here is more information on what to do if the crate looks
damaged or if the crate is not damaged but you find out
after the driver has left that the kiln is damaged:
