problems with digests, archives, and jibberish in messages

Hello,

I've made a few changes to our listserv configuration files and
believe that the problem of styled text (colored text, wacky fonts,
etc.) should be fixed.

Most likely, tonight's digest will still contain some messages with
styled text, but tomorrow's and future digests should be clear.

I've not been reading clayart much recently, and am only marginally
aware of the problems, but I do notice that there are significant
negative changes with our archives.

First, it appears that links from google (or other search engines)
that connect to clayart archives are broken. I can't say now whether
they can be fixed on our end or whether we must wait for google to
discover the broken links individually.

Google searches that reference the potters.org archives are fine, of
course (he says).

Then there's the issue of new behaviors in the new archive search
page. Since the conversion, each clayart message has some headers
that contain helpful links, including subscribe, unsubscribe, and
archive. The archive link will take you to a page with a link by
week and/or month since 1996. There's a link for searching the
archives, too.

Many of you will be faced with a note that you need a password in
order to access these pages. The process in getting a password is
painless and quick. If I recall correctly, it says something like
"you need a listserv password, click here."

Once you set up your password, access to the archives is easy and pretty quick.

I won't have time to check out all the digest formats, but for now,
if there are outstanding problems with any of the above, please do
let me know.

Thanks.

Regards,
Maurice

Does that mean that the spam bots will no longer be able to access our
email addies on the archives!?! If so - WHOOPEEEEEE.
