Well, today I got the studio finished!
Got my slab roller assembled, the extruder on the wall and DH got the =
sink plumbed and water running and the last of the electrical done.

And I got to throw some stuff!
First time in 3 years. I was really apprehensive.
I remember struggling with some technical aspects before my hiatus, and =
was not sure throwing had become really second nature. Was not even sure =
I would be able to center consistently. But over the last year, I have =
been sort of goi ng through the process in my head and "practicing" in =
my mind. Reading and watching videos on YouTube (some really great =
ceramics stuff there BTW).

I did fine and felt like I was in my element. Threw 2 jars to become =
birdhouses, threw 5 small pouring bowls off the hump and finished with a =
kitty food dish.=20
It felt so good and so natural.

Since I am too far from my old clay supplier to make it economical to =
get my clay from them, I went with Laguna. Got 3 clays - one for =
throwing (1/2 and 1/2), one for tiles and handbuilding (B-mix with grog) =
and one for Raku (raku industrial).
I threw the 1/2 and 1/2 today and really love it.
I hope it doesn't change dramatically in reduction, but we'll see.

Anyway, I think I'm back, and it feels great!
