making your own bats

Jim made me a pile of plywood bats. The plywood had enamel paint on
both sides. He cut the bats to the size of the wheel, and put the
holes where the screws in the head are. (Okay that's not the most
wonderful sentence I've ever written.) The plywood came from
fortuitous dumpster diving.

Anyway, if you want more details, e-mail me off line and I'll forward
messages to Jim.

Please forgive if this has been mentioned already on this thread. I will me=
ntion it again, since some might not yet be familiar with `freecycle`. It`s=
where I got sink cut outs from a local contractor, who is also on the free=
cycle forum. The primary goal is to relieve pressure on garbage, landfill a=
reas. Perfectly fine stuff of every variety finding new homes, from baby su=
pplies, landscaping materials, magazines, electronics, ...
These bats last, have a slight texture, and are `free`.
Just Google `freecycle` and it will take you to your local. Growing worldwi=
de.
