If I fire this glaze (1) on the pieces at the bottom kiln

Dolomite 5.9
Gerstley Borate 13.6
Whiting 8.2
Zinc Ox 3.9
Minspar 200 46.1
EPK 2.7
Silica 19.7
Copper Carb 3.0
Cobalt Ox .5

with this glaze (2) on ware loaded at the top of the kiln

Custer 27.26
Whiting 23.28
EPK 19.20
Zinc Ox 3.01
Silica 27.26

To cone 9.5, reduction, all porcelain, what are the odds that I will get
that horrible liver colored flashing on glaze 2?

Thanks for your help

Hi Ronda,

Try them without the zinc - it's not necessary in most reduction glazes and
may be the reason you are getting the flashing.
