Hey folks! don't get too excited, the clayart archives are NOT lost.

Sure, if the Clayart listserve goes down THAT copy of the archves is
gone but there are still:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/clayart/

and

http://www.potters.org/

And I think Lee says, there is one on google as well.

If any of these intend to go on, they just need to point to a new
source to gather the archives.

You can find really old clayart archives at google groups,
when they were mirrored at USENET. But, you can easily set up an
archive at google. You just have to sign up with the address they
give you and everything is mirrored there. They mundge all
addresses, which helps eliminate spam.

Google Groups is much better than Yahoo Groups. But Yahoo
Groups is exponentially better than listserve or Web BBS, on some old
server in a office that the janitor can unplug.

There really is no need for your own server, unless you
are a paranoid control freak. ;^) Which most Companies are.
