Just chiming in on a few observations I have had over the years of
microwaving all of my experiments and seconds. While I have had a
few high iron content glazed pots get hot, the pots that consistently
overheat for me are the ones that were underfired. I often use bowls
that were underfired for cereal bowls and inevitably one of us will
forget and put soup in one and sure enough, the bowl will be very hot.

My latest mugs with iron glazes are not overheating, so I think
finally getting the right clay and testing for adsorption has been
key. But will experiment a little when glazing again and report back
in the future.
