I've now got in touch with Ron Hutcheon, who lives two hours up the Ottawa
Valley from me, and have sent him some samples to look at: my hot MgP glaze
and three high-iron ones.

I'm making up a sample of James' Adrian Red to see if I can replicate the
heating he observed.

On Ron's suggestion I'm checking out ferrimagnetism as a possible model for
the heating - it's effective even in a solid where dipoles are frozen.

If you have a glaze that you get heating from even when freshly made, let me
know and I'll try to replicate that as well.
