I should have posted this awhile ago, and I forgot to do it. =20

I went to the Sandi Pierantozzi workshop which was sponsored by the =
Katie Stouffer Art Center and held at Linda Stouffer's studio in =
Quakertown, PA the first weekend of March. It was quite a lovely =
weekend, and the workshop was informative and fun. I stayed with Linda =
and Carl and three of their children, of which Teddy is my favorite. ;)

If you get the chance to attend a workshop at the Center, (new digs =
coming soon!!!), or with Sandi, don't pass it up if you can afford it. =
I did this rather than NCECA this year, as it was less expensive and =
more convenient than a mid-week thing. DO NOT MISS the farmers' market =
if you go; it is awesome, and those folks are serious about sausage in =
all forms!!!

Now, on the way back to Q-town from elsewhere in PA, I passed a big =
green highway sign that said (and I am NOT making this up), =
"Virginville". I swear, I am NOT making this up; I have the photos to =
prove it. I'm just wondering how big the population actually is....

Met up with Lois Wilkins in Bethlehem for a tour of the Banana Factory =
and other sightseeing adventure. If you have the opportunity to eat at =
Tortilla Flats, which is near the Moravian Bookstore, TAKE A PASS. It =
was the most horrifying culinary experience I've had in years. =20

The Allentown airport is quite easy to get along with as well; I highly =
recommend flying in and out of there.

LISA,
You were in Amish Country, yes, there is a Virginville, but there is
also Intercourse, PA, and Blueball, PA. The signs were so frequently
stolen that you can now buy signs in many road side shops . The
workshop was great and we will be hosting more as soon as we move into
our "new" building! I guess the Quakertown Farmers Market is something
you don't have in NC. We get busloads of people to the market, several
butcher shops, home smoked meats, poultry, fresh fish, several produce
stands, bakeries and our famous "Sticky Bun store". The smell will
drive you crazy. My daughter Katie, used to work there and she always
came home smelling like a cinnamon bun. Thanks to all the great people
who attended! (Lisa, I fired your pots and will mail them out this
weekend)
