Sorry Dan & Laurel
Never had any dealing with the endeavor but have seen plenty of
the old EZ-Up fold up under an average down pour and god forbid it rain
with any amount of wind. The other name for EZ-Up has away been "EZ-Down"
when you don't want to too. I would suggest you cut your losses and look
at other tents. We have The Protector by
Flourish http://www.flourish.com/ that has carried us threw almost
hurricane winds and down pours. It no longer produced but the company make
other styles now that i hear are even better.

Hi Dan & Laurel,
Last year I had a show in Tucson and my good tent is in WA so I bought
one from Costco.
I had a similar experience to yours....it shouldn't take almost an hour
to get one sidewall zipped! I returned it to the store which is what
you should have done!
The tents you find at Sams or Costco are
pretty inexpensive and the construction materials are as well.
They might be fine for the family picnic but are not made well enough
for shows.
I started doing shows 8 years ago and bought an ez-up
for $600. It was a lot of money for me at the time but it is
constructed much better than the flimsy ones in the big box stores.
I noticed the fabric was showing some wear last summer but it has
weathered
high winds, occasional heavy rain, brutal sun and is still functional.
There are better tents than mine but I'm sticking with the one I have
for now.
It has paid for itself many times over.
Do some research online, go to an art fair and check out the tents to
find the ones that appeal to you. There are several companies that
make good ones with a range of prices. Several offer free shipping.
Good luck,

Has anyone used EZ-UP's Endever tent? This is a dome craft tent that they
started to sell at Sam's last year. We bought one and it turns out the setup
instructions were wrong, or so they said, and when we first set it up it
bent most of the metal stays. They did try to replace them, after months of
waiting, but never did get them all. I am about to just write off the tent
as a total lost. I think the design will never work but I could send ~$100
and try to buy more stays. If someone has one and likes it maybe it would be
worth the money. As is I would never buy anything from them in the future!
For the same money I could have got a very nice pipe tent that would have
been slower to setup but very will build. Well maybe not slower, in a year
we still do not have the Endever up.

I wish we did but it is a four hour drive to the nearest Sam's that sold
this tent and we ripped the box up unpacking it. I should have just tied the
mess up and headed for our local store. This was already our second one. The
first one UPS run a fork into and we sent the remains back. This in itself
was not easy or fast. Then we took two days to drive up and back to
Knoxville tn. to pick one up. I do like the design, a rip-off of the $900
version and it was not cheap > $300 but we broke the one we had been using,
a cheap one from Costco, we hoped this would be a big improvement. After all
that work I really did want it to work! Called and after waiting a very long
time they said they would replace the parts. We did final get a box of parts
just not the complete set we needed to get it to work. Now they do not
answer our email. Maybe if I spend a day on the phone I can get more parts
but will it work even with all the parts? No point is doing this and getting
to a show and have the first gust of wind collapse it. After seeing it bend
so easy on the first setup I do not trust it to say up. This is why I would
love to hear from someone who is using one.

The sad part is before I jumped on this turkey I found a very nice one that
looked to be very well build for the same money. Not as nice as the $900
versions but for $300 you can get a good commercial grade steel tent. Not
light or fast to put up but one that will not blow now easily.

The rule of thumb on tents is you can buy 3 EZ Ups and leave them in the
river, or one good tent like the Lite-Dome...it'll end upt he same. If
you're planning on doing a number of shows on an on-going basis, EZ Up is
not cost effective. Remember it may not be just your tent, but everything
in it.

Been there, done that. 2 LiteDomes (we generally do double booths) and 13
years.

I tend to use up canopys in the past 35 years of doing shows-I have at any one time 3-5 of them-
Back in the day we all made our own. Stick to good known brands-usually the ones at big box
stores are not up to speed. Ocassionally they do carry some better ones but you have to know
what they are-canopys come in basically two styes-easy up and assemble the top part then add
the legs. Trim line-craft huts light dome and some others fall in later catagory-many of these
names have recently been bought out or gone belly up and have new names. The better easy ups
come in different quality and you get what you pay for-easy up and KD fall into these types-some
are steel some aluminum-some have thicker tubes. Most lines make a low end cheesy one that
sams and costco carry. If you want more info on these you need more feedback from folks who
use these , try sites like the artfair source book forum. Folks who make their living at art shows
have lots of knowlegde in this area. This site below is just such a forum of users.

Why throw good money after bad? Here is a link to the website where I got
a great deal on an EZ-Up Encore II package, which I have used multiple
times in rain and wind with no problem. In fact, last September I did a
show where a big storm came through and wiped out 20+ tents, including the
one immediately adjacent to mine. My EZ-Up was unaffected - no leakage,
no wind damage.
