Hay Liz...

Obviously I can't make it cause I'm gonna try to give
W*M their two days and it is a long drive so I guess
we have to depend on the net eh? Hope you get more
shots of the fire. Is the double crossdraft in the
Flickr the kiln you plan to fire? It looks like the
firebox is under the chimney. Is the door on the other
end, like the one I hit ^10 in for the first time, or
do you load from the top? As I recall that kiln was
made of IFB but wasn't real large eather, maybe about
your size. One suggestion I found helps the draft is
skip the culvert and make the stack brick, even red
will work on the top 5' if you only get the chamber to
^7, some of the results being rather interesting. I
think of the stack as just another part of the heat
sink for the entire kiln. One advantage in your design
is the stack gets pre-heated being above the firebox.
Makes it hard to loose draft. Thats it, I'm jabbering,
stay in there eh?

Anyone interested in participating should email me directly for
more information.

We are firing the first weekend in March in Beaufort, NC, at the
site of the Natural Instincts Conference of 06.

There is room for a few more people to participate. The kiln will be fired
on Saturday and opened Sunday. You will need bisqued work that
is rated to at least cone 7 without glaze, this will be provided on site.
The kiln will be loaded on Friday.

make it.
