First of all, I would like to thank Tony F., Tim S.,Steve S.and all those w=
ho have actually 'considered' the things I have put forth, and 'answered' m=
e without just wishing me quiet, and I really did try to break the last thi=
ng into paragraphs but it was rearranged into a solid block when I sent it.=
I'll try again here.
Im not going to use the "quotes" and parenthetical punctuation so much anym=
ore (if I can help it), and I appreciate an honest critique of anything I d=
o publicly at any time, thanx.

As for me confronting and generalizing everyone, I just needed to weed out =
the thin skinned people, like when they yell at you real loud and talk bad =
about your Mother in boot camp, if you can't handle artificial stress, then=
you probably cant handle real stress, and I'm interested in the potters wh=
o's first reaction is to ask some questions, and respond pro-actively, like=
"Are you talkin' to 'me'?, I 'know' you're not talkin' to me, 'cause I'm n=
ot 'like' the person you're talkin' about." The first thing you have to be =
here is confident in your abilities.

There is an Olympic style throwing contest that is held in Italy, I heard t=
he winner for the past couple of years has been some guy named 'Claudio' fr=
om a pottery family there in Italy. I think the winning 'throw' is like 44 =
inches or something, I wonder if any of us Americans could come close to th=
at, or would any of us even venture to try, I myself would. I wish some of =
you guys would train with me, you don't have to leave your home town (unles=
s we qualify to compete) , we would just keep in touch and share notes.

Even if we cant win or even qualify to compete in the Italian competition (=
I think the best throwers on average are the Italians and the Koreans) I wi=
sh we could form an American Team just to help and encourage each other to =
advance in the throwing field. The team would also be the spokesmodels/endo=
rsers for a line of specialized wheels, kilns and pottery tools produced by=
our non profit pottery foundation, which would concentrate its focus on th=
e quality of tools, training, responsibility to the ecology and general adv=
ancement of the field, instead of some unconditional monetary profit.

Fast Firing Kilns, as I have said before, I have a four cubic foot kiln des=
ign that goes to cone ten ^10 in about one hour on about five dollars worth=
of natural gas and of course you could make it go slower for delicate obje=
cts, I would invite my throwing mates to build these under my direction, fi=
re them, and share the results of their work as advertisement for our Natio=
nwide non profit pottery foundation called the "Kerameikon"

I realize that many of you have not seen my throwing,or the throwing of my =
Master, Michael Frimkess, but many of you 'have' and I assure you, I have b=
een honest about the size shape and weight of the things I throw using this=
hard clay waterless method.

So if anyone is interested we will begin the process of forming this advanc=
ed non profit group.

thanx Dayton

Dayton, dear.....

Thanks for the paragraphs. Makes for a truly enjoyable read.

I'm curious about your approach - pottery (throwing, in particular) as a
competition sport. Why? Is it an exercise in breaking up what could be a
dull production cycle? Many of us have seen this sort of thing at clay
festivals and county fairs. I think there was a festival out west in the US
where they featured a throwing competition.

Maybe it's just a "guy thing". Bigger isn't necessarily better. And
faster, well, I suppose it has it's place.

As for "throwing out the thin skinned people" - what a dull place this would
be if we all agreed on everything all the time.

...Lo
