Subject: Sale of Claymakers in Durham--pass the word, please

Dear Friends,

I realize that you are not likely to be in Durham on Sunday to attend
this meeting, but I want you to know about it, and about the
situation Claymakers finds itself in due to my ill health.

A new owner(s) is needed who can lead Claymakers and make decisions
about its future growth, someone with a bit of entreprenural spirit
as well as a love of clay. Perhaps among your many associations in
the world of clay, you know someone who might fit the bill, and be
interested in taking this on. Please forward this on to anyone you
know who might fit the bill.

If you have had direct experience with Claymakers, you know that it
will be a significant loss, to Durham and to the broader clay
community. It has been my life's work for the past decade, and I
grieve at the thought of its closure.

Dear Friends of Claymakers,

You are invited to attend a community meeting to discuss the future
of Claymakers.

This meeting will be held on February 10, 2008 at 2pm at Claymakers
(705 Foster Street, Durham, NC). Please RSVP to if you will attend.

The purpose of the meeting is twofold: 1) to talk with the community
about the impending closure of the business and 2) to make a last
push to find a buyer for the business. Due to the health needs of the
owner, the business must be sold by mid-April or it will be
liquidated and closed.

Business Sale Information:

information, please email (serious inquiries
only). Please do not contact Leonora directly. Audra Ladd will be
responding to all inquiries.
