need advise on dip glazing low-fire tiles

I am interested in glazing some low-fire tiles by dipping. The tiles
have been bisque fired to ^03, and have an absorption of roughly
10%. They are made from a talc body and are 3/8" thick. I make my
own glazes, so I can prepare them for dipping as opposed to
brushing. My first attempts were unsuccessful - when the glaze
application appeared to be even and dry relatively quickly, the
application was too thin. When I tried to redip, the glaze did not
dry well, and appeared lumpy, but still the application was not thick
enough to give good glaze development. When brushing, 5-7 coats
gives a beautiful glaze surface that is craze-free.

When I glaze higher-fire work which has been bisque-fired at ^04-^03,
I have no problems -- possibly because the bisque is more absorbent,
then my low-fire bisque??? Obviously, I can lower the bisque
temperature, but that may present problems with non-lead low-fire
glazes according to the literature. I need advise, especially from
those who dip glaze low-fire work.

Many thanks, in advance, for any help or suggestions!
