Thank you all for the nice personal replys on my last post. I just find it
very hard to hear a few people protesting an e-mail, but in the same breath
we get two messages back to back for workshops, this is a commercial ad,
should it be banned? I for one would like to know. See the below ad.

Thats if for me!!!!!!!!!

Forgive me if this seems inappropriate. I am a brand new subscriber to the
forum. It was my understanding that it is a place where any questions,
answers or announcements about clay could be put out to the clay community.
CASD, the organization that is offering these workshops is a 501(c)(3) - a
not for profit organization of anyone interested in clay and the advancement
of the education and appreciation of clay items and techniques. We have
been putting on workshops as long as I can remember, but usually just a
single day or possibly two, and usually just attended by those who live
nearby. As we grow and try to expand to a five day hands-on format, it
becomes necessary to get the word out to as many people as we possibly can.

Besides the Branfman workshop and the Pierantozzi/Patterson workshop in the
previous message, we will be putting on a color workshop with John Conrad
and others whose details have not yet been finalized.

I'd like to hear from the forum if you think it is appropriate for me to
list these workshops here.
Thanks, Jackson

Hi Jackson,
You absolutely should be able to place an announcement (which is much =
different than an ad, in my opinion)=20
for a workshop on Clayart. There are too many "police" here on the list =
who try to decide for the whole group what=20
is appropriate or not. Rudy and I have always felt that CASD has done a =
wonderful job at pulling together the greatest
workshops; one of the few reasons we would go back to San Diego, in =
fact. It might even get some who might not know about=20
the workshops otherwise to be able to participate. Just my two cents. =
Say hi to all our old friends down there.
