Lee, thank you very much for the info. The Fall's Creek Shino made with Albany Slip is very beautiful in my opinion. Are you saying Redart will do the same type of thing? Plus the combination of tin ox. and Zircopax. I was just going to ask what Ultrox is-but now I see it must be just like Zircopax. I might as well try the first two of these formulas- for the others- I don't have Alumina Hydrate -unless it's also called something else!

I have over 30 200 gram samples stacked around the studio right now- and I was going to try and simplify my glazing!!!! Also, a woman is selling her whole collection of chemicals for $200 and some of the stuff I rarely use- but probably won't be able to resist buying her assortment!

Between Ron and John's book and the clayart archives, I keep wanting to try something new every day. Thanks again. Sally

As for the video about the Cone Box Show- I'm curious as to how many clayarters have been in that show? The gallery at our high school had that show on loan -I can't remember what year- '03 or '04 I think. I decided we should have it because I really wanted to see it-and it was great to have the whole show on display (for at least a month, pretty reasonable too) the students and staff loved it. Inge Balch who is the main person in charge and does a ton of work for that show every year is really great to work with- very friendly and accommodating. That deadline is coming up pretty soon.....

If you only want Ron to answer, try mailing him privately. ;^)

Our dear late Ababi from Israel did exactly what you are
asking for. I found it old post with google, using these search

Hello John
Here are two recipes:
After I write them the way they are I shall offer you with "your"
materials. Try both ways it might be the same.
The main point about this glaze is red clay- that gives the Fe2O3+ The
combination of tin and ultrox/zircopax.
I removed the lithium and added frit.
The numbers of the first glaze are nice therefore I did not round them.

Using calcined kaolin can reduce the number of materials however I have
not made the adjusting of the EPK as a calcined clay( removing the LOI)
