Hi, folks,

Based on the rave reviews on clayart over the years, I bought one of
these. Never used it aside from running some water through it to
make sure it worked. Shortly after buying it, I decided to bite the
bullet and buy a big compressor and separate HVLP guns. I thought
I'd use this when in traveling mode, but nope.

So... time to go.

Here is the info from the Harbor Freight web page:
HVLP complete spray kit

Comes with a built-in self contained electric turbine compressor
which creates and amplifies the air flow. High volume low pressure
spray guns get better transfer efficency and less over spray -
resulting in a 40% material savings. Ideal for jobs where spray
control is especially critical adjustable spray patterns: vertical,
horizontal, and circular. Sprays light, medium and heavy stain,
varnish, and latex.
* 89% transfer efficiency
* 15 ft. PVC hose
* 1 qt. cup capacity
* Compressor: 110VAC, 60 Hz, 9.85 amps
* Air inlet size: 1.137''
* Nozzle size; 0.70''

The URL for it is

You may read about it in the clayart archives with this URL:

(Good luck getting response from the archives.)

Perhaps you'll have better luck through the Potters.org archive
collection... I know I do:

Anyhow, it's on sale now at Harbor Freight for $70, regularly $100.
I'd like to get $50 for it. I'm just a bit north of San Francisco,
but will ship it to you using any method you choose for whatever it
costs me.

Regards,
Maurice

Maurice,

How much noise does it make? Could it be used in class during class?
