Faced this issue with the female students in my summer raku class - most all
gloves are simply too big to provide for sufficient dexterity.

Before last summer's class I got some leather gloves from Ward Burner that
are made in a smaller size for women.
Here's a link to the page:
http://www.wardburner.com/otherproducts/glovesmittens.html

The gloves are lined and offered adequate protection against the heat. They
are not intended for picking up hot pots.

Other types of gloves we have used over the years have not lasted long with
the abuse they get from students. I think these leather gloves will last
much longer than others.

Why not try "barbeque mittens" One size fits all! That's what I use
occasionally!

I have a pair of long insulated leather gloves I bought at a welders
supply store several years ago, size small (7), that I absolutely
love. Great fit for a woman's hand.

Some of my former metal sculpting students told me about this website for
women's tools/safety equipment:

It's also a good place for any of you guys who are so inclined to pick up
a nice pink toolbelt.
