This is almost so basic I am embarassed to ask, but I will: What is the
correct pronunciation of "guinomi?"

And number two, which isn't basic at all: what are the plural forms
of "guinomi" and "yunomi?"

Many sincere thanks,

Fred Parker

gui is like 'gooey', no with a long o sound, and mi pronounced like 'me'
in English.
Japanese doesn't have plural and singular forms of nouns like English,
so they would remain guinomi and yunomi, no matter how many you're
talking about. Convenient, eh?

Goo-ee-no-mee

Guinomi are much harder to make correctly than tea ceremony
bowls. (you have to get all the same elements in a much smaller area.

good answers to the pronounciation of guinomi.

the tough thing for many westerners is to NOT accent any of the syllables.

Fred,
We happen to have a Japanese exchange student staying with us now. She
says yunomi (cup- "You-know-me") does not change in the plural form. She
does not use the term guinomi (but says it is said "gooey-nome-ee). She
says guinomi means to drink one time (action word).
Hope this helps.
