Hay Crew,

After two days of rain it cleared a couple times enough to let me giv'er
to where I can feel good about going in to Wally World for a day. There is
in the background a few timber forms I wanna Jerry Rig into a tarp holder
but I need to get the bricks along the sides out of the way. Those get set
in the walls soon and I can make the covering contraption. Most of what I
wanted to do while off was define the front corner curves and lag in the
base of the firebox. In the process I remembered to stick the mousehole in
under everything. What I think might be unique about this mousehole is the
expanding taper from the inch or so air inlet to where it will eventually
expand from being heated to a useful volume under the ash pile. Here is
the whole page with some review of the last weeks progress...

If I get the chamber covered with one layer of brick and seal the
firebox I can start a bag of Sam's Choice charcoal in the pignose and
begin drying the kiln before we get much freezing. Thanks for continuing
to follow along and stay in there eh!
