Quite a bit off subject, but NASA now believes that China will beat us to the moon:

Hi Peter, all...

Golly, we just missed acknowleging or remembering the anniverary of
'Sputnik' - October
4th., 1957.

I remember watching it slowly passing in the night sky, laying on my back on
our front yard, in Palmdale California...although you could
see 'Sputnik' with your naked Eye too, I remember I had my dad's Binoculars
to see the little 'Dot' better...just a tiny 'dot' creeping along...

This is such a nice memory for me.

And too, we should tip our Hats to "Laika", the Russkie 'Space
Dog'...launched into
Space soon after, on November 3rd., 1957.

The Gas Station down the street gave away little 'Sputnik' toys, which when
you blew into them, had a little 'orb' on the end of a "J" shaped hollow
stem,
the Orb was tethered to a thread so it would rise on the Air column when you
blew into the stem end...

So, now we wait...for 'NASA" to figure out how to do, what they supposedly
did, or what by '2020', they would supposedly have done, 50 years earlier.

I bet they are sweating 'bullets' on how to get past the Van allen Belt
without cooking the crew... and not have the damned thing weigh so much no
one could afford to get it up there, out there, to there...so...

Okay...

...they gunna figure it out now...sharpen those Pencils...

Lol...

Love,

Phil

Jim,

I believe the article says China will land again before we do. But
they don't have the ability yet to land Taikonauts there. A large part of
our 2.7 trillion debt (as Ron Paul said in the debates last night) is held
by them (our 'charge and spend congress!) So, they have the will and the
money to explore space.

Much of the technology that powers our computer industry was
developed withint NASA. A very good investment!
