a delicate situation (credit card complaints)

I assume that the 90 day complaint period makes it irrevelant whether or not that
bill had been paid.

Just another aspect of credit card complaints: several times I have had a credit card
customer at a fair not recognize the charge and make an erroneous complaint. The
merchant service then charges me a fee whether or not the complaint is valid, just
because it was made!

Dear Eleanora:

The credit card companies definitely are not the merchant's friend! Seems
a little odd, given the degree of reliance on merchants for their income,
but it's reality. In my experience they really didn't care what the facts
were. If things didn't go perfectly they just yank your money and tell
you you're on your own...
