i agree with mel, you may be using way to much pressure,
and if the air flaps or dials are full open your firng
in oxidation. flams do not always represent reduction,
just pressure! also, i have seen kilns black smoked
which would lead one to believe plenty of reduction is
in the chamber, but actually it can be in the stack or
outside the kiln! did a woodfiring where we had black
smoke from the get go, heavy too. but everything was
oxidised, go figure. are you refiring these pots? once
a copper red is fired to cone 10 in oxidation it will
not go red again, same with shino, celadon, etc. get
a good digital pyro if you dont have one, fire with
enough gas to make it climb a couple hundred degrees
and hour, only turn up when it stalls for longer than
15 mins. set reduction visually inside kiln
(cloudy with slow flames) and by the burner flames
(yellowish, not blue). hope that helps.
