try it in used bookstores. the isbn number is 4-7700-1528-3.
the original price was $65.
now, they have a new addition of this book, the rochester art center
sells it, price is $150 if i remember well. and in may, just
before the mackenzie show opened here in rochester, minnesota,
someone posted on clayart that the new book was on sale... check
the archives.
hope this helps,

There are five of the original on Amazon being offered on Amazon
($166 to $250.00):

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/4770019912/ref=lp_g_1/103-7669339-8341465

It has been reissued in a very different volume. Many of the
pots are from the publisher's collection. The new essay by
Silberman is interesting. New photos are NOT by Petter Lee.

The publisher's webpage is here:

http://www.unicommn.com/

You could inquire. it is something over $125.00

Unicom Management Inc info@unicommn.com

I know Northern Clay Center sells the new addition.

If you are buying for the images, I would recommend the
Retrospective catalog from Rochester art center I wrote about here
previously. Information below:

hi lee,

yes, it is possible to order a catalogue for the listed price of
$49.95 directly from us. this is the first i have heard of our
catalogues on ebay and have shared your link with my colleagues...
thank you for the tip. if interested in purchasing a catalogue you can
call the number below with your shipping and credit card information
or we can take a check by mail. the total cost (with tax and shipping)
will be $63.45 if you are interested.

thank you,

Go to:

I put in David Lewis as author, and 'mackenzie' as a keyword, and the search engine brought up a number of copies.

Good luck -

=20
Thank you everyone......you were all very helpful.
=20
I might have been clearer..........I was hoping to track down an original, =
Japanese printing.......for=20
=20
about $100 :):)
=20
I find that original one listed all over for as much as $470. And nothin=
g less than $175.00 to date.
=20
The original was so perfect in every aspect, the images were so well photog=
raphed, and the colors
=20
used in that printing were outstanding.......and even tho the book is now a=
bit "old" the pages=20
=20
have not loosened........a real sign of a quality publication.
=20
I will try to get it first then save more money for the other publications.
=20
To the best of my knowledge the revised editions and or other versions are =
not copies of the original.
=20
I would be interested in a reprint.....if indeed it is a duplicate of the o=
riginal. The Rochester Art
=20
Center show looks very interesting and I will follow up on that idea.
=20
Again, thank you all so very much for taking time to write and help me on t=
his journey:)

Don't hold your breath.

I had a chance to buy Hamada's 77 Matcha chawan for only
$200.00, but was dirt poor at the time.

The Rochester Catalog is all photographed by Peter Lee too, but
of a much more important collection of work. And it is priced very
reasonably! It will be much rarer because of the limited number
published. I may buy 3rd one.

I'm sorry that you misunderstood. I'm not interested in selling the book,
simply want to know the value. The fact is I don't remember what I paid for
the book. Barbara

If it were mine and I wanted to sell it I would put it on eBay and then tell
the folks on clayart about it.
There is a Warren signed hard cover copy for $350.00. That seems fair based
on what I have been seeing them go for in the past.
Asking price for HC copies run from $150.00 to $418.97.
Soft cover copies are pricy, too.

Barbara -

Undoubtedly worth quite a bit. Why would you want to sell it?

Sean - if you haven't already done so, look at alibris.com. They have a
few copies listed as the original edition published by Kodansha (JPN),
starting at $150.

I have had excellent results finding rare books through alibris.com.
