chimney height and brazing

the height of the chimney will depend on a number of
factors. what is around the chimney, what kind of roof,
and is it clear of the roof line.

it really does not matter that much with your flat top.
i would compromise. go about 14 feet from the top of the bricks.
good as any.

i also suggest folks that do not weld, look into brazing.
it is easy, not so much fuss and sparks. a gentle form
of joinery of metal.

i am not a good, experienced welder. i get stuff stuck
together pretty well. but, when i have a choice, i braze.
clean steel, bronze rod and it makes for a very pretty
attachment. you can see the bronze melt into the steel
and form a puddle.

just a thought.
