One of the obvious places to see beauty that is not connected
to our personal preferences is in Nature. All sane cultures
recognize the universal beauty found in Nature.

I was struck by this yesterday, when I was walking with the
dogs in the Parkway above the Mississippi. We don't walking in the
official walking and biking paths, but on the other side of the road
with there is a tree filled median between the parkway road and the
access road to fancy houses that face the Mississippi.

There are huge trees in this median: Elm, Maple and wihte
and red Oak. Though I have a special place in my heart for Elm trees
because of my Grandpaw Love, I have to admit that the Red Oak are
more awesome. The bark is well defined and the strong limbs create
calligraphy overhead, bold against the sky above.

We can't improve upon the beauty we find in nature.
Understanding this, all we can do is try to tap into the same source.
