Hello claybuds,

Been just lurking the past while, and enjoying reading posts with my
morning coffee. Also I have been busy working for a show that I am
having with a wood turner, David Lyon. The show is called "Vessels
of the Earth", and it opens on Sat. Aug.4th at 2 pm and runs until
Sept. 23 rd. The gallery is located at 51 King St. East, in
Colborne, Ontario, Canada. Colborne is around 1 1/2 hours east of
Toronto.
Would be wonderful to see a clayarter or two there!

Had some nice carbon trapping in my last firing. There will also be
some pots glazed with RR's Black Magic, and a few celadons.
I am happy.

Hey Liz, I got the notice of your show via Alf Blything's e-mail from the
Colborne Gallery. If I can, I'll drop by on the 4th. If not, best wishes
for a happy day.

Love, Helen

Tony,
Yes, I was fretting. So I decided to just do what I do best. A
couple of tea sets, a few vases, bowls, and plates. I did use a glaze
that I recalculated taking Ron's course a couple of years ago. I
have always wanted a nice satin, with just a hint of color. So I
used it on a tea set and I really like it. Very quiet, very
sensuous, soft, and tactile. Does not craze, or move on the pot.
Had a test tile in the outside studio over winter, with all that
freezing and warming, it still did not craze. So happy that I got my
carbon trapping back. I adjusted my target bricks and am sure that
is what did it, besides the usual firing schedule.
Have a good workshop!
Liz, (wishing she was a Grannie)
