visible resist that sticks to a glaze

I want to apply an overglaze to a pot already fired with another
colour glaze. Does anyone know of a resist that will stick to a
base glaze and be visible (i.e. milky, not transparent like wax
resist is) so I can tell exactly where I've put it, but still
burn off colourless?

You can always put food coloring into the wax resist. The color will burn
off.

Hi Lois,

Go to a hobby shop and buy a little bottle of model enamel. Testor's.
They come in really little bottles.
I usually choose the color that I can see well on the background glaze
color. Any color will work. It resists, sticks well and burns off. It
might be smelly if you are doing big areas with an electric in the
basement, however. Great for smaller detail work though. Dry it with a
hair dryer if your in a hurry.

Good luck,

Dan Saultman
