I won a scholarship to the Wichita Art Association when I was a
sophomore in high school. Because I had never had much contact with
clay, I chose to take a ceramics course. That was my introduction to
Jack Pharo and the beginning of my lifelong interest in functional
clay work. This is the first time I have seen his name mentioned
anywhere (can you tell I'm not walking on the beaten paths of
ceramics?).
