itc for exhaust headers - not mine!

The idea of using ITC self applied is potter thinking when it comes to
engine parts.

I have recently restored my Norton Motorcycle and I had several of the
parts coated with various ceramic coatings. The pistons get three
different coatings alone. I used Performance Coatings in Auburn, WA.
They have anti friction coatings, oil shedding coatings, heat dispersing
coatings and more. They are pros and do it right.

I have helped build a racing motorcycle and the black heat dispersing
coatings on the headers is wonderful! The headers cool off so fast that
I still have a hard time believing it. We often have to work on the
bike right after a run and I have yet to be burned by any parts with the
heat dispersing coating on them! The engine runs cooler and we have
experienced much less wear that on uncoated engines. I have three
Classic cars and I will not rebuild any of the engines without using
ceramic coatings on them.

Coat your own stuff if you like but Performance Coatings is so
inexpensive that I can not justify doing it myself for questionable results.

YMMV,

Rick Mahaffey- you probably guessed that I was in engineering before clay.
