-Lynn, which frit did you switched to? Is it gram for gram as in G.B.?
Any significant difference in the glazes since the switch other than
the lack of instability/ thanks! Kathryn in NC-- In

I use 3195, gram for gram, then add in a little more whiting to
compensate for the slightly lower calcium level (start with 5% and
test). Works very well!

What kind of frit do you substitute for G.B.?

I just calculated this sub - the boron is just right and the calcium is a
little up and the MgO a little down - but the alumina and silica are way
up.

I had to do quite a bit of adjusting to get the recipes the same using 3195.

In the end - calculation is the way to do this - you are just not going to
find a frit that you can sub in one for one.

Send me the glaze and tell me which frits you can get and I'll see what I
can do.
