in many cases, if you are working with molds, mixed
methods, extruders, etc. you can stuck on the
question of 'handmade'...
it gets to be kind of crazymaking.

with sculpture and prints for example.. and mold made
work
it is also traditional to refer (largely for consumer
benefit)
to
one -ofs (one of a kind)
limited edition (of a certain quantity)
limited pressing of (a certain quanity)

or not

i'm a 'libertarian' on this one..i appreciate seeing
work of all variety.

ours is a wide field with so many approaches.
Sorry about the slippery slope, but i see no
absolutes on this one.
I would rather see some fabulous work with mixed
methods rather than poor work which adheres to a a
certain definition of acceptibility in forming. great
work and poor work is made from all materials and all
methods.

You can write absolutes for your own work or for your
own juried show or project, but personally, I see
too many variations as to what matters and as to what
shows the work and mark of the craftman, the artist
.

i do think it best , as others a have stated better
than I,
just be honest about what you do and how you do it
and go forth and do the work your heart desires and
your heart , mind and hands can't wait to get at.
