Dear Mari Anna;

The Shadbolt Center for the Arts in Burnaby is maybe worth a visit.
There is an active Guild there, as well as classes run by the Parks
and rec dept. Call first to make sure they are open. BTW, they have
one of my Doorless Fiberkilns(and a car kiln and a wood kiln).

Also of interest would be the BC Potters' Guild showroom on Granville
Island. While on the island, a short walk away is Emily Carr College
of Art and Design, with an active studio. They might be able to
direct you to other places.

Cheers, Hank

On May 9th, Eric Mindling will be presenting four Mexican Potters at Emily Carr College of Art & Design on Granville Island. It only costs $25.00 for the day which includes demos and a slide presentation by Eric. I would be there if it were not for the fact that I have to go to the airport to pick up relatives coming from Scotland, I was quite disappointed that there was a conflict. Granville Island has several clay related places to visit, The Gallery of B.C. Ceramics which looked really good when I was in there Monday, CraftHouse across the street, with ceramics and othe crafts, and s couple of places at the Netloft, including Circle Craft. I think that the Mexican thing is from 10 - 5, call Emily Carr when you get to Vancouver. Enjoy the city, we have had a cool spring, so there is still lots of snow to look at on the mountains, but there are lots of Spring flowers out. Bring your umbrella!

Hi Mari,
You have to go to Granville Island. It`s in the city and crammed
full of ceramics, paintings, art supplies, music, etc. A must!
I spent 2 full days there at our last visit. There`s always
something new and many sharing and talented potters.
Have fun! Husband and I are visiting son there in June.
Best wishes from Lela
