Lili Krakowski on tue 17 apr 07

A really nice young man asked me for my "fake" Albany Slip recipe some days
ago. I accidentally deleted his message during the delays, and confusions
caused by my being forbidden to type...so please forgive. A lady never is
rude unintentionally,. I slipped up, and was rude without for a moment
wishing to be....

Please check Clayart Archives for March 2001, under my name, post named Wood
Ash at C.6.
There also are my twice-forced recipes.

Sincere apologies...as you see, I even deleted your name.

Lili
I looked, but I found no recipes. Just seemed to be a conversation.

On my website at

www.alisapots.dk at glaze tests, red clay glazes,
you can see several glazes made with red clays, including
Lili's Redart mix (Albany sub.). There are Lili's glazes,
a few I made slight changes to and a few I made. The AC glazes
are slip glazes. Keep them stirred up because the large percent of
clay in them makes them fairly lumpy when left too long in the pail.
Otherwise, some of my favorites to work with.

Best regards,

try one of these (I have had good luck with Alberta Slip):

Glaze name: Albany substitute 4

Comments:
The Pearl Ash is such a small quantity that it can probably be
omitted. This was calculated from what I believe is an older analysis
of Albany Slip. Richard Burkett 4/24/89

Gerald Rowan: "Syn Alb 1 & 2 work well in slip and engobe recipes, but my
favorite is #3. It works at the widest temp range, reacts well in both
reduction and oxidation, and is consistent in most of my slip, engobe, and
glaze recipes; it also melts at Cone 6 with no additions."
