it is obvious that if you intend a style to include
running glazes, etc...it is intended.
the public will decided if they want it or accept it..
the right pots, from the right potter could make it fabulous.

what jerks my chain...big time:

a student at the univ. of minnesota/mfa show.

pots that ran/crawled and it was `FLAWED`.
I ASKED HIM:

`WHAT ABOUT THIS GLAZE?`

he said `this is a rare glaze that i invented....
the runny style is mine...i invented it.`

is said...`bullshit. it is a glaze flaw, and you don't know the difference.`

and that was a fact.

he should not have graduated...but then, pay your fee, do
your b.s. and then graduate.

no need to know anything about clay/glaze.
just big ideas.
and, of course, if you don't have an idea.
so what?

it is like all art/film/music/comedy...if you do not have a
creative idea...just
be obscene or dirty...then you have them guessing...right.? freedom of
expression. but, filth is the easiest thing to do in the world...takes
no courage at all.
