Greetings,

I've been getting behind in sending my collection...

Norma Hanlon and Kirsten Hanlon Walstead (SoMi Tileworks) (Minneapolis,
MN, USA)
(formerly Fresh Fish Ceramic Tiles)
http://somitileworks.com/
(A mother and daughter team who have changed their web address since I
last posted about them.)
(They produce handmade tiles sculptured in high relief, often with
images from nature, working out of separate studios but collaborating on
designs.)

Kiko Denzer (author of "Build Your Own Earth Oven") (Blodgett, OR, USA)
http://www.wildfirebar.com/kikodenzer.html
(Resident Sculptor, Wildfire Restaurant: http://www.wildfirebar.com/)
(There is also some very lovely Sumi Brush painted raku pottery by Lee
Kitzman on Wildfire's site.)

(unfired earth plaster tiles is a Denzer specialty) ("Earthen plaster
is clay subsoil mixed with fine sand, wheat paste, and fiber. Depending
on the qualities of the clay, cracking is controlled by adjusting one or
another ingredient. Reinforcement is provided by various binders
applied after the mud is dry.") (For those interested in the
mathematics of art, check out his work: "Proportion's principle/homage
to Fibonacci.")

Brett Binford and Chris Lyon (Mudshark Studios) (Portland OR, USA)
http://www.mudsharkstudios.org/
http://www.ceramicindustry.com/CDA/Articles/Feature_Article/BNP_GUID_9-5-2006_A_10000000000000060761
(The 26-year-olds worked for several years for Jonathan Kaplan's Ceramic
Design Group and now run their own pottery and mold making services for
ceramic, glass and metal production, using traditional clay forming
methods and plaster lathe turning) (The plaster lathe is actually just
a normal wood lathe.)

Cheri Wranosky (See...but Creations) (Athens, GA, USA)
http://www.seebutcreations.com/
(Sculptor working in clay and mixed media making conceptual and
narrative work, often combining roughly textured coil and slab
hand-built pieces with found and recycled objects)
http://www.uga.edu/gm/ (Art Director of Georgia Magazine)

Julie Johnson (Julie Johnson Pottery) (Interlaken, near Seneca Falls,
NY, USA)
http://www.juliejohnsonpottery.com/
(functional pottery in porcelain with an emphasis on surface design and
decoration, employing simple thrown or handbuilt forms with brush drawn
depictions of birds, animals and flora) ("My work forms a bridge
between two-dimensional media and the sculptural aspects of pots. An
etched line, a calligraphic brushstroke and the movement and pattern of
a written language influence the surface.")

Danny Dastrup (Danny Dastrup's Centered Pottery) (Berkeley, CA, USA)
http://centeredpottery.com/
(High-fired glazed functional pottery)

Inner City Clayworkers Gallery Co-operative (Sydney, NSW, Australia)
http://www.clayworkers.com.au/
(Rosa Chan, Janette Loughrey, Barbara Mason, Sheila Myers, Ellin Pooley,
Dorothy Shumack, Liz Trujillo)

Simon Leach (Simon Leach Ceramics) (Vall d'Alba, Castellon, Spain)
http://www.simonleachceramics.com/
(Grandson of Bernard Leach makes very pleasant functional porcelain and
stoneware)

Regina Simas (Regina Simas Ceramics) (Carrollton, GA, USA)
http://homepage.mac.com/reginasimas/ReginaSimasCeramics/
(Brazilian born potter who teaches workshops in Nerikomi, Agateware and
other colored clay techniques)

Enjoy.
