After many months of research, planning, writing and discussion, the 1997
trip to China is taking shape. I have a tentitive itinerary, the final one
will be determined after the selection of a travel agent.

This visit to China's treasures is planned for July 1997 and will take 18
to 21 days (depending on which travel agent is contracted).

We will begin the tour in Shanghai, then travel to Yixing (where the famous
unglazed teapots are produced). The next stop is Jingdezhen (known as the
Porcelain City which was responsible for the production of porcelain for
the Imperial Court and exportation), then to Xian to see the life-size
Terra Cotta Warriors at the tomb of Qun Shi Huang and finally Beijing.

The cost of the trip is approximately $3,600 (again depending on which
travel agent is selected). This includes 1st class hotel accommodation,
air travel to China and all travel within China, and three meals a day,
which includes an American breakfast.

I have more details for individuals who are interested in this trip, such
as the specific pottery related areas and the visits usually associated
with a tour to Mainland China that we would be seeing.

This will probably be the last time I will be announcing the trip on
Clayart as spaces are beginning to fill and final commitments are being
made.

Those of you who are intersted can reach me via email. Please include your
home address so that I can send details that cannot be sent via Clayart. I
