To those interested in glaze calculation or a very nice glaze

I have been trying to adjust this glaze to fire at ^5-6 It is as it stands
a ^10 glaze

Base
41.6 Kingman spar
16.1 Colemanite
8.1 Zinc Oxide
3.8 Talc
20.8 Flint
2.8 Whiting

For deep red, blue or purple Mottled add
1% Copper Carb.
1% Tin Oxide

For light blue Mottled add
3% Rutile
1% Copper Carb. Or 2% Red Iron Oxide

This is an amazing glaze and I no longer have access to ^10 facilities.
The only thing I can think of is that I will have to build another Kiln.

Those who can help or suggest a good book on the subject I would be
appreciative.
Everything I try dose not work

ps. My computer has been down for two weeks. Needless to say I have about
2500 messages to catch up on.

A quick fix could be to substitute a soda spar like Kona F4 or Nepheline
Syenite for all of the Kingman. That would bring it down about 2 cones. If
this glaze has a wide firing range, that in itself may work. It it needs more
help, add more gerstley borate in 5% increments. 5- 10% more gerstley might
bring it down.

If you have one of the glaze software programs you could do this rather
quicklyl

June
