in a very gentle way i am suggesting if any one wants my services for a
short time teaching or workshop i am reving up my engines. have taken off
for several years....2 or 3 of you have asked if i would be willing to lend
a hand...i do japanese throwing, careful measuring of clay, and a general
dog and pony show... and i will not break the bank. i am talking short
term, several days..this is not an advert...just answering several of you
that have asked me.
and i love wood fired kilns...if you are in the right location, have the
fuel to do it...and the wind is right...go do it...does an electric kiln on
every day..run from a coal burning power plant save us....? we can be very
silly sometimes. we where the first craft to be using fire...we do not
have to apologize for using it.....we who make pots for the love of craft
and art are not ruining the world... just be accountable for your
actions...be careful, and use ones head...it is not that complex. mel
jacobson/ minnesota/ a careful pyromaniac and proud of it. and i
posted jack troy and gave him permission to fire this month...someone has to
make good pots. and ask dannon rhudy to send us all some horse tails from
texas. god i love horse tails. ;) ....love to you all, mel

Mel,

You're right, it's not that complex. As to horsetails, no
doubt Texas has it's share...but then, there are lots of
horsetails everwhere...no monopoly in one place...
