There were several requests for information concerning summer workshops, so
once again I am posting the ceramics summer workshop schedule for the
Appalachian Center for Crafts. We are located 60 miles east of Nashville,
on a wilderness tract overlooking Center Hill Lake. We also have workshops
in glass, fibers, metals, and wood. Since we lost our workshop coordinator
last summer, it has been a struggle to put this program together, but it is
all firmed up now. The brochure will be out in a week or so, for those of
you who have waited so patiently for it. Anyone else who would like a
brochure, email me your snail mail address ASAP, in order to get in on the
bulk mailing. Feel free to email me any questions or comments.

It should be an exciting summer. We have a full slate of workshops
scheduled - an even dozen in two three-week sessions. Participants
normally arrive on Sunday afternoon or evening, and leave on Friday
afternoon or evening. For those who want to take several consecutive
workshops, it is possible to pay a small additional fee and stay over the
weekend in housing. I do not have the prices yet, but our five-day
workshops run about $200, with room and board costing approximately another
$200.

Vince- those workshops sure sound great. And reasonable. If ever your
center offers comparable workshops over the winter break from universities
or early spring, I'll be there. I'm unable to do anything summers.

PS- there are a few years of Ceramics Monthly from the 60's and 70's in
our university library- Binghamton University, but with Alfred only a few
hours away, I'm sure we're the poorer source.
