Thanks for all the responses to my question. The general concensus is to
charge. One of the best reasons for charging I got was that very few students
come in a just work without asking questions. If a potter is in production,
those interruptions can be costly. Also, if one decides to have open studio,
limit it to one day a week, so as not to interfere with your work.
