The final changes to the mailing list for the *5th annual Strictly
Functional Pottery National* have been made and we expect applications to
go out in about a week and a half (if the printer keeps his promise.) In
the meantime, if anyone would like an application, send me your mailing
address and I will add you to the list. If you have applied to this exhibit
in the past, you SHOULD be on the list. If you have moved, please e-mail me
your new address. If you are in school, hopefully your school is on the
list -- send me the address and I will double check.

For those who are not familiar with the SFPN, it is a gallery exhibition
juried by slides, presented by the Market House Craft Center in Ephrata,
PA. The purpose of this exhibit is to give functional potters the national
exposure and recognition they need. It is open to all residents of the 50
United States. Applications must be postmarked February 1st and the actual
exhibit is May 3-25. Our juror for 1997 is Val Cushing. Last year's awards
totaled $3820. This exhibit was recently written up in Clay Times with some
great photographs, and has been in Ceramics Monthly each year (still to
come this time).

We have responded to the suggestion that the $250 insurance deductible
poses a hardship to the artists. We can't change the insurance coverage,
but we WILL split the deductible this year should it be necessary to make a
claim. (So far, we have not made a claim.)

The 1996 exhibit may still be seen on the www at http://www.art-craftpa.com
