******I saw a design for making a screen fixed into the bottom of a 5 gallon
bucket, now I can't find the reference. I think it might have been in a
Ceramics Monthly. Does anyone remember seeing it?******

I have a small paperback book "Great Ideas for Potters" with selections of 30
years of suggestions in CM. I got it at Seattle pottery, but think I've seen
it in ads in CM. On pg. 105 there is a description for a strainer made with a
couple of buckets.

" purchase a 12" length of brass screening in the desired mesh a 4-5 gallon
plastic bucket with a lid that does not exceed 11" in diame-ter. Cut about
4-5" off the top of the bucket, then cut away the inside of the lid, leaving
only the outer lip band. Laying the screen over the top part of the bucket,
snap the lid band over the screen and onto the bucket rim. This should
stretch the screen tight, ready for use."
