Cindy...I've used this sytem of Pure and Simple bats for about 10 years
now with no problems so there must be answers to the ones you are
having. Although you said you followed the plaster mixing directions
carefully, I can't help but feel the cracking problem is the result of
either a bad batch of plaster or a soft mix. Maybe try another bag of
plaster. Not releasing from the key is interesting. I don't have any
trouble lifting the 13" bat from the wheel as there is enough purchase
around the edge but when I use the 8" bat, I just slip the tip of a
putty knife under the edge until there is room for my fingers. Hope this
