skutt kiln help

I recently bought a Skutt 1027 from a woman who had bought it and stored it
in its packing materials for a year. During a test firing for the kiln
sitter (^020) it blew a fuse. New fuse in place, it went to high for about a
half hour then shut down. (No, the timer didn't run out, and the cone is as
straight as ever.)
I'm now unable to get the kiln to power up AT ALL :-(((((.
I've checked everything I can think of. There is power to the outlet, the
weight trigger releases, etc. I am incredibly bummed, as the Kiln Sitter
warranty is no good any longer, and Skutt will only honor their warranty if I
had the original purchase papers from a certified dealer. Can anybody out
there cheer me up? TIA, Diane (in Tucson)
