Dearest Ed:
Pop a nitro tablet and take a few deep breaths! If your wife buys a new
kiln, it will come with detailed instructions on how to set it up, and how to
fire it. If it requires anything but 110 V, you'll need to have an
electrician do the wiring. I just set up my first brand new kiln and it was
a piece of cake. Much simpler than it appears it would be.
Additionally, any pottery supply store in town will be more than helpful if
you have worries, questions, or just need general hand holding. People who
work with clay seem to be some of the nicest (dare I say, down to earth?)
folks on the planet. E-mail me, or any of the zillion other people who will
answer you, for more help. Diane in Tucson, where we'll hit the mid-90's
today and suddenly all of my winter visitors are gone!
